Cetatea Lita Fortress (Ruins)

Cetatea Lita is a medieval fortress built on a cliff above the valley again. Documented in 1324 under the name "Castrum leta", the city had a very troubled past. It was severely damaged as a result of the explosion of powder in the underground storerooms of the city on 12 February 1562, following a siege. In 1569 the ruins and surrounding forests were related Geczy Janos's donated to the city made habitable again, while his descendants lived here until the second half of the seventeenth century.
